The challenge: a home service invisible in local search results
Masajes Lanzarote is a professional home massage service on the island of Lanzarote. They offer relaxation, sports, and deep tissue massages directly at the client’s accommodation, with prices starting at 45 euros. The service holds a 4.9-star rating on Google, but when we started working together, that excellence wasn’t reflected in their online visibility.
When a tourist or resident searched for “massages in Lanzarote” on Google, the business didn’t appear on the first pages of results. The Google Business Profile was incomplete, reviews were scarce, and the basic website didn’t convey the professionalism of the service. Competitors with a stronger digital presence were capturing searches from tourists planning their holidays.
The goal was straightforward: make it so that tourists and residents could find Masajes Lanzarote directly on Google, see the positive reviews, and book a home massage without intermediaries.
Our approach: dominating local search and tourist intent
Phase 1 — Google Business Profile optimization
The first step was to transform the Google Business Profile into a complete lead generation tool. We filled in every detail: services with pricing (relaxation massage from 45 euros, sports massage, deep tissue massage), operating hours, coverage area on the island, languages spoken, and professional photos.
We activated direct messaging and set up services with clear descriptions. We implemented weekly posts with seasonal content: wellness tips for tourists, benefits of each massage type, and occasional promotions. This kept the profile active and signaled to Google that the business was operational.
Phase 2 — Review strategy
Reviews are the single most influential factor in local rankings for wellness services. We designed a simple system that sent each client a message after their session, inviting them to share their experience on Google with a direct link.
The message was personalized and the response rate was high. Every negative review (the few that came in) received a professional, empathetic response within 24 hours. In 6 months, we went from 18 reviews at 4.2 stars to 85 reviews at 4.9 stars. This growth was key to climbing positions in the Local Pack.
Phase 3 — Website optimized for tourists searching on mobile
The new website was designed with two profiles in mind: the tourist searching from their home country before traveling, and the visitor searching on their phone while already on the island. Both need fast load times, clear pricing and service information, and a simple booking system.
We created specific pages for each massage type (relaxation, sports, deep tissue) optimized with real tourist search queries. Each page included a service description, benefits, duration, price, and a prominent booking button or WhatsApp contact option.
We implemented content in both Spanish and English, since a significant portion of Lanzarote’s tourism comes from the UK and Germany. Each version was optimized with localized keywords: “massage Lanzarote,” “home massage Lanzarote,” “masajes a domicilio Lanzarote.”
Phase 4 — Technical local SEO
We ensured NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across all relevant directories: TripAdvisor, Lanzarote tourism directories, and wellness portals. Every citation was verified to ensure identical information across all sources.
We implemented LocalBusiness schema with complete structured data: coordinates, hours, price range, services offered, and coverage area. This improved how Google displayed the business information.
Phase 5 — Social media for tourist visibility
Instagram became the primary social channel. We published visual content that linked the wellness experience with Lanzarote’s environment: relaxing imagery, health tips for travelers, and satisfied client testimonials. The content conveyed professionalism and warmth at the same time.
The social media presence didn’t just generate direct bookings — it reinforced credibility when users looked up the business after finding it on Google.
Results after 6 months
The local SEO results came quickly. Within 6 weeks, Masajes Lanzarote was already appearing in the Local Pack for primary searches. By month 3, it had consolidated in the top three positions on Google Maps for “masajes Lanzarote” and “masajes a domicilio Lanzarote.”
Online bookings grew from 10 to 32 per month. Direct calls from the Google listing rose from 8 to 28 per month. The business was able to reduce its dependence on hotel intermediaries, as direct clients represented a growing share of revenue.
The return on investment was clear: for every euro invested in the digital strategy, the business generated directly attributable online revenue that more than justified the marketing spend.
