The challenge: a premium brand stuck in a WordPress site that didn’t represent it
Access Safety manufactures high-performance technical paving: slabs such as Stone20 PMI, Biostone20 SNS, Tablet20 SNT, Silent12 SC and the Tactile15 tactile paving. It works with city councils, architecture studios and engineering firms on public-space projects, where buyers compare technical data sheets, download dossiers and value rigour over slogans.
Its existing website wasn’t up to the task. It was a WordPress site with accumulated plugins, slow to maintain and with a structure that mixed languages and legacy pages. On top of that came an infrastructure problem: hosting and domain were with CDmon, corporate email ran on Microsoft 365 and nobody had a complete picture of the DNS zone. Any change could leave the company without a website or, worse, without email.
The brief had two parts that couldn’t fail at the same time:
- A new website that conveyed the brand’s premium positioning (“Simply, impeccable”), in English and Spanish, and that the team itself could edit.
- A complete migration of hosting and domain to Hostinger without losing rankings, forms or a single email.
Our approach
Phase 1 — Inventory before touching anything
Before designing, we took inventory. We crawled the old website with our own indexability scraper and documented every URL, its status and its future equivalent. We exported the CDmon DNS zone to a reference document and built the destination zone in Hostinger, validated record by record against the original, with special care for the Microsoft 365 records.
The rule was clear from day one: don’t change the DNS servers until the new zone was verified, and don’t cancel CDmon until 15 days after the switch.
Phase 2 — Building the website in Astro
We built the website from scratch in Astro, with a bilingual architecture: English at the root and Spanish under /es/, with reciprocal hreflang on every page and its own sitemap. The design starts from the client’s mock-up: graphite, slate, sand and bone, headings in MADE Mirage and body text in Albert Sans.
What it includes:
- Product pages for each paving type, with its technical performance, and a technical solutions page with an interactive wheel.
- Projects and About us designed for the institutional buyer: real works, team and manifesto.
- Dossier downloads with a custom form that sends the request to the sales team.
- Code-free editing with Keystatic: the client changes text and images from a dashboard, without depending on us for every comma.
- Technical SEO built into the code: canonical tags, structured data,
robots.txt,llms.txtfor AI search engines and complete legal pages. - Forms without third parties: browser and server validation, anti-bot protection without captcha or cookies, and a copy of every request stored on the server in case a notification ends up in spam.
The whole website was reviewed on a password-protected, non-indexed preview (new.access-safety.es), at every screen width, before anything was published.

Phase 3 — Migrating hosting and domain to Hostinger
First we moved a mirror copy of the WordPress site to Hostinger as a bridge, so the website stayed live during the domain transfer. Then we prepared the final DNS zone and, once verified, changed the name servers. Microsoft 365 email kept working without interruption.
Phase 4 — Switch day: a script, not improvisation
The move from WordPress to the new website was made on 13 October 2026 with a migration script written for the occasion:
- Full backup of the WordPress site (database and files, with checksums), stored on the server and locally.
- Production build with automatic quality control: the script refuses to publish if it detects
noindexpages or if no recent backup exists. - Publication with a cutover of seconds. The WordPress site is not deleted: it stays archived and ready to come back with a single command if anything fails.
- Automatic verification of the 28 sitemap URLs (200 status, indexable, canonical), the 15 301 redirects through to their destination, the retired URLs returning 410, HTTPS, the non-
wwwversion, security headers and forms.
Verification came back green on the first run. The rollback wasn’t needed.
Results
- New website in production in about three weeks from the first build, in English and Spanish.
- Zero losses in the migration: rankings protected with verified 301 redirects, forms sending to the same recipients as the old website and corporate email intact.
- A faster, more secure website: static pages, with no exposed database or plugins to update. The Spanish homepage weighs about 40 KB of HTML and the server responds in under 0.2 seconds.
- Autonomy for the client: text is edited from Keystatic and each change goes live with a single-command deployment.
Project lessons
A migration isn’t won on switch day, but in the inventory beforehand. Documenting the DNS zone, mapping every URL and having a tested rollback turns a risky leap into a matter of minutes. And in a technical sector like Access Safety’s, a static, fast, well-structured website speaks for the brand as much as its product data sheets.
